Sempre and SAGE are delighted to announce that Associate Professor Kathryn Marsh, University of Sydney, Australia, will be taking over the Editorship of Research Studies in Music Education from Professor Margaret Barrett.

Margaret will step down following the publication of Volume 34, number 2 in December 2012.

During Margaret's highly successful seven year period as Editor, RSME has established a partnership with Sempre and formalized a publishing contract with SAGE, leading to a growth in submissions, and broadly increased international readership. RSME is currently ranked 8th out of 74 journals in the Scopus Music category.

A major innovation that has accompanied the editorial transition is the change from manual submission and processing of articles to online submission and automated processing through SAGETrack. This is now facilitating submission and review processes.

Sempre would like to express sincere thanks to Margaret for her dedicated and ongoing contribution to RSME. We extend a welcome to Kathryn, who brings an interdisciplinary background in music education and ethnomusicology to the role of Editor.
